arcgis server必须分布式安装么？就是一台机器装arcsom 另一台只装arcsoc?
我装了个arcgis10 ，在ArcCatalog中发布map service的时候出现错误，在ArcCatalog中发布map service的时候，在输入server url和host name点完成的时候，出现这样的提示：
you need to add at least on valid machine to the server before you can publish any service.
If you have already added a machine it may have become invalid(check network connections )or the machine's license may have expired(check server log files)。
Would you like to add a machine now?
我在arcgis server manager里的gis server里Host machinde里 添加host machine，我输入本机的机器名，点ok 又说我的arcgisserver licene has expired。
但是我在arcgis许可服务器管理器里看 显示许可服务器状态：正在运行。

可以都装在一台机器上的。 Arcgis的许可有很多种，找Esri的技术支持吧

请参考：
1. On your server navigate to: C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\server\user\cfg
2. Open the Locator .cfg files in notepad
3. Scroll to the bottom and increase the number in the tag below from 300 to 900.
<StartupTimeout>900</StartupTimeout>
4. Save the file in notepad
5. Restart the SOM

Geocodeserver也是需要lic的吧..
如果无法启动，应该也是许可没装对 或者你的许可文件不包含这个部分
