Training, Learning & Development definitions
Training workshops – face to face or virtual programmes designed around specific learning objectives that link to business goals. Pre and post discussions
are recommended with your line manager to apply and review the learning
On the job learning – working with those around you or on your own to solve problems and give time to consider how to improve or learn a way of doing things
more effectively or differently
Coaching – can be on a specific skill, knowledge area or certain on behaviours. Delivered from someone who is an expert in that area often your manager.
Coaching can be quick or long term depending on the need.
Mentoring – a relationship with someone other than your manager who can offer support and guidance as they may have experience or a new perspective in
certain areas
